MCC of AZ’s preferred drug list
MCC of AZ has a list of covered drugs that we choose with the help of a team of doctors and pharmacists. This list of covered drugs includes the AHCCCS acute and long-term care drug list. These lists include which drugs are covered by MCC of AZ and also tells you if there are any rules or restrictions on any drugs, such as a limit on the amount members can get.
Please review this list to find out what drugs are covered by MCC of AZ. If you would like a paper copy of the , please call MCC of AZ at 1-800-424-5891 to request a copy be mailed to you. Please be aware that this list may change throughout the year.
If an MCC of AZ member is currently taking a drug that is impacted by a change to the list of covered drugs, we will notify the member in writing 30 days prior to the change taking effect. You can review the AHCCCS preferred drug lists and the MCC of AZ preferred drug list on our MCC of AZ provider page.
MCC of AZ’s Provider Toolkits
We have developed provider toolkits to serve as a central repository for information on clinical guidance, available tools and resources, trainings and more. We currently have toolkits focused on:

Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS)
Effective January 1, 2020, a Schedule II substance that is an opioid can only be dispensed with an electronic prescription order as mandated by HB2075.
Health Current’s 2019 EPCS Click for Control has been developed in partnership with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and the Arizona Board of Pharmacy to help providers meet the new requirements.
